Arcane x Julian Holm Fanart

Totally late to the party, but of course Arcane couldn't pass by me (as by many others) without me feeling the desperate urge to create some fanart and maybe unravel some of the mysteries of the outstanding look this show created.

The model I chose as subject of this case study is based on a design by Julian Holm, whose art style would totally fit into Arcane imho! Definitely check out his portfolio!

The sounds are all from Pixabay, tried to replicate also a bit of Star Wars feel with sound and animation.

What you see here is my humble attempt to kind of replicate the various steps from modeling to compositing how I imagine them that could have been possible to achieve the look for Arcane. I'm probably wrong, but I felt using the LightningBoy lighting workflow for NPR scenes could be easily adapted to match Arcane's look. Check out their Youtube channel for very helpful tutorials!
I also found a "hidden" feature inside Blender that allowed me to quickly externally edit my texture painting in Photoshop. That enabled me to paint on a giant 16k texture without performance issues. Blender never ceases to surprise me!

All rendered, of course, in Blender's realtime engine Eevee!
